Many stories of first responders or special forces who run toward danger to save or free people are celebrated by books or movies - and they should be! These stories motivate us, or make us feel a deep sense of appreciation. As a young kid I looked up to these figures who were on rescue missions to help others, and many of my friends wanted to be one when they grew up. Yet is isn't like these jobs are done without opposition or scorn. Still these first responders keep on doing the job they have to do. So why does mockery or scorn towards us derail so many people who used to go to church? This week, we get reconnected with the reason we are rescued by Jesus and the mentality he wants us to have in the face of opposition! Join me!
